It's a Rogers and Hammerstein moment; you almost expect Bloody Mary to start crooning 'Bali Ha'i,' but the only Bloody Marys on site come from the cocktail lounge. Reminiscent of classic Trader Vic's decor, Palisade's lush setting is exotic Polynesian, complete with indoor saltwater tidal pool, marine life, waterfall and footbridge, but the stunning views of the marina and downtown skyline are strictly Pacific Northwest. The seafood-dominated menu also displays South Pacific flavors (pupu platter, anyone?), positioned side by side with more traditional, regional preparations. Alder- and cedar- plank roasted salmon and halibut are signature plates, but the spit-roasted prime rib is also a favorite -- especially when paired with black tiger prawns. The most popular dessert is the Burnt Creme sampler, a trio of mini-pots just right for sharing. For a special occasion, plan ahead to attend the lavish Cityview Brunch, where overeating is elevated to an art form. The dinner crowd tends to be older (and, it must be said, more affluent), but, with its "guava ritas" and Magnolia mai tais, the bar draws a more youthful clientele. Colonize an outdoor table on a hot, sunny day for some of the best real estate in town.

Attended a dinner held for an out of town, self appointed big shot who loved to "big deal" people. My best friend, who was famous for ALWAYS picking up a tab, was told in no uncertain terms NOT to pay that evening, joined in ordering all the available courses on the menu. Later, after we all had a laugh at sticking MR BIG DEAL with the bill, we all agreed that the lavish items from the menu were for the most part, quite ordinary and in some cases, less than wonderful. Have not been back since.

Better a few years ago

My family and I have been dining at palisade for over a decade and noticed when chef changed and quality of food. Meals brought out during brunch are barely warm. Sausage selection is quality of a continental breakfast. I noticed servers standing around our last visit holding various trays of food each (no wonder food is cold once placed on tables) having conversations while patrons walk pass. I don't know about you but eggs benedict are not desirable cold! I couldn't believe my eyes considering prices and standards that they claim to stand behind.

Great service, fantastic food and beautiful view! If you like Palisade and want something a bit more casual I recommend Scotts Bar and Grill in Edmonds, they are sister restaurants!

Beautiful View, Great Food
By classyone81 on 07/11/2006
My boyfriend took me here last year for my birthday. The table was adorned with rose pedals, candles and a b-day card for me. Our server was so wonderful and the food was great. I recommend the cedar plank salmon. This place is pricey but it is definatley a great place to check out if you're celebrating something.
