Dixons Downtown Grill, a bustling oasis for people watching, schmoozing, fantastic margaritas, and substantial plates of commendable grub, is a warm, woody retreat. Breakfast is a huge draw here, and on any given morning, you'll encounter powerbrokers and politicians debating issues over steak and eggs, the Denver skillet, or Dixons daily double, an eat-your-heart out happy meal of buttermilk pancakes, eggs, and sausage or bacon. Coffee is poured with gusto by perky servers, and with no blaring TVs, you can actually engage in conversation with your tablemates. If you can't rise and shine for breakfast, lunch and dinner proffer myriad Southwestern dishes, like chicken enchiladas and ahi tuna tacos, as well as a terrific burger, hearty sandwiches, and savory prime rib. The patio is one of LoDo's hottest see-and-be-seen spots.

Dixons Downtown Grill
By AndreaXMilnes on 09/23/2008
My boyfriend and I went there for Dinner last night. The food was pretty good, especially the vegetables served as a side with my sirlon which were some of the best I've found. The artichoke dip appetizer is also highly recommended. However, the service was what I would definitely consider sub-par. When we walked in, nobody was at the hostess stand so we just kinda had to stand around for a while. Our waitress took our order, refilled our drinks once and brought our food, but that was all we ever saw of her. By the end of the meal both mine and my boyfriend's glasses were completely empty save for ice. She also did not give us enough time between bringing out the appetizer and the main course which was disappointing cause the app was wonderful! The food was moderately priced for a non-sportsbar (although one could call this a sportsbar what with the rowdy people at the bar watching football) LoDo place, which was definitely a plus. Atmosphere was marred by the loud football fans at the bar and the top-40 pop music playing softly in the background. It felt like a dressed-up Applebees with way better food and less people.

Great Patty Melt
By dunlap4444 on 02/29/2008
My boss and I just ate at Dixon's Downtown for lunch. We both had a house margarita and a patty melt. The hamburger was one of the most tasty burgers I have had in a very long time. And, the margs were great. The margs are more real lime juice instead of the standard bar sweet n' sour mix. It's an individual preference one way or the other.
